Safety Regulations for Operation of High Voltage Electrical Equipment

Electrical equipment must be operated in accordance with this operating procedure. Improper application that ignores this warning may cause fatal and serious harm

Electrical equipment must be operated in accordance with this operating procedure. Improper application that ignores this warning may cause fatal and serious harm.

High voltage operating procedures:

1. Non staff members are not allowed to enter the high-voltage room. If necessary during work, permission must be obtained from the relevant responsible person before being monitored by the on duty personnel.

2. Duty welding engineers must have necessary knowledge of welding safety, understand safety operating procedures, understand the characteristics and operation methods of various equipment in power supply and distribution systems and high and low voltage distribution rooms, understand the configuration status of safety accident lighting fixtures, and have the ability to take effective measures in case of abnormal phenomena.

3. On duty welding workers must grasp the first aid methods for electric shock and chest compressions. When a personal safety accident or safety incident occurs, the power supply of the relevant equipment should be immediately disconnected for treatment, and appropriate firefighting equipment should be used.

4. The switching operation must be carried out separately by two people, one monitoring and one operating.

5. Operators need to wear insulated gloves, and outdoor operations need to wear insulated gloves and insulated boots.

6. If operating outdoors in rainy, snowy, or severe convective weather, insulation rods and quick clamps without unique equipment are strictly prohibited from use. Outdoor operations are also strictly prohibited during lightning strikes.

7. During the construction, cleaning, and maintenance of high-voltage equipment and routes, the on duty personnel should take safety precautions according to the content of the work order, including power-off, electricity inspection, charging and discharging, installation of wire joints, installation of covers and suspension warning signs, and on-site inspection by the responsible person during work. The voltage tester should meet the rated voltage, and after confirming that the equipment is not powered, charging and discharging, hanging wire joints, and placing a warning sign on the power switch joystick that reads "Some people are working, no reclosing is allowed" to prevent safety accidents.

8. In the event of an emergency situation that seriously endangers equipment or life safety and cannot be reported to higher-level leaders in a timely manner, the on duty personnel may first turn on the main power switch of the relevant equipment, but must immediately report to higher-level leaders afterwards.

9. If a safety accident or abnormal situation occurs and the on duty personnel cannot distinguish the cause, they must immediately report to the person in charge of the electrical equipment. Before reporting, no maintenance or restoration work can be carried out.
